Jazz Fest Live presents The JazzMN Quintet at Dakota Jazz Club & Restaurant

The JazzMN Quintet features members of the JazzMN Orchestra, the Twin Cities premier professional jazz ensemble, It includes Pete Whitman, saxophone; Adam Rossmiller, trumpet; Mary Louise Knutson, piano; Jeff Bailey, bass; and Phil Hey, drums.

The quintet of trumpet, saxophone, piano, bass, and drums has been the standard instrumentation of jazz groups throughout the history of the music. The JazzMN Quintet will present a historical nod to noteworthy artists that used this instrumentation from its infancy in the swing era, into standardization in bebop, through its heyday of the hard bop era, and more modern explorations from the 1960s and beyond....
