Concert for Nepal at Jazz Central Studios

As many of you know, in the last few weeks Nepal has been hit with multiple major earthquakes, leaving the people devastated and the country in crisis. Many of the hardest hit communities are in the remote areas , where up to now, very few aid organisations have been able to travel to.

This concert is focused on raising money to provide food, and supplies to rebuild the homes and local school for the village of Suspa in Dolakha District, in the northeastern portion of Nepal.

All the old homes have been reduced to rubble and the school, which Pawan’s grandfather built and was the first school in the whole district, is gone. The last six quakes have been in the area surrounding Suspa, and Dolakha. All the livestock are dead, and the fields are ruined. My family members are sleeping in makeshift tents, and are struggling to get food....

Large relief organisations simply have not been able to travel to these communities. People in Suspa need help NOW! The monsoons are coming soon and not only do people have very little shelter now, when the rains come in June conditions will worsen for survivors. Reconstruction will be more more difficult in the rainy season.

It is therefore imperative that we act as soon as we can so that the people of Suspa get the help they need to survive.
